Ruby Minji Hwang, ASW

(pronouns: she/her)

In my practice, I work alongside creatives, highly sensitives, BIPOC/Asian Americans, first and second-generation immigrants, women, and those of LGBTQ+ experience to heal generational patterns, recover from trauma, and step into authenticity.

My approach is informed by holistic approaches including somatic therapy, parts work, and depth psychology. Through remembrance and embodiment, I invite you to tap into the wisdom of the body and uncover your own unique voice – instead of living out the stories you’ve been told about who you are.

Neuroplasticity reminds us that our minds and bodies are always reaching for healing. I see this therapeutic space as a vessel to allow what’s already happening within us to rise to the surface.

My master’s degree in clinical social work is from Columbia University. I am trained in EMDR and somatic psychotherapy (Sensorimotor/Hakomi) with a Ph.D in-progress in the field of depth psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute.

Alongside my psychotherapy offerings, I have a dedicated mindfulness practice, a background in comparative mythology, and training in folk herbalism – you’ll often see me sipping on my herbal potions during our therapy sessions.

Please reach out via text or email if you’d like to schedule a free 15-minute consultation – via Zoom or phone.
